Dr. Robert D. Smith was born on November 29, 1959, in Greenville, Mississippi, to Mr. and Mrs. Anderson Smith, Jr. He accepted Jesus Christ at an early age at William Chapel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend John Albert Johnson. He remained faithful with a gift from God, teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, and becoming a junior deacon.
In 1976, he moved to Anchorage, Alaska, and joined the Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. He became employed with Alaska Regional Hospital, where he holds a diploma as a Central Sterile Technician, C.A.N., and in 1994, he received the Columbia/HCA Healthcare Humanitarian Award.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Theology and degrees in Religious Education, Family Counseling, Pastoral Education, and Chaplaincy from the University of Holy Ghost Theology Outreach Mission. He also has a doctoral degree in Divinity, a diploma in Physical Therapy, a diploma as a CMA, a graduate degree in Biblical Studies and was awarded the 2006 Secretary’s Award for excellency in nursing from the USA Department of Veterans Affairs in D.C. |  |  |  |  |  |  |
